The best in this kind
"The best in this kind are but shadows; and the worst are no worse, if imagination amend them-"
Thud! Thud! The steadily approaching sound of a walking cane interrupts the children rehearsing on the stage.
A well-dressed middle-aged man briskly walks up to the stage. Unbecoming compared to his gentlemanly attire, the man's eyes bulge with rage, his beard quivering.
"No! Dad, you can't just-" A girl wearing a servant costume is yanked off the stage by the man.
"No, you can't just do this! You are of noble stock, and yet you waste your days on theater. It is despicable!"
Without retort, the girl is dragged away by her father.
The stage lights dim and fade to dark, together with the light in the young girl's eyes.
